As part of his solo Europe tour, Eddie Vedder recently made a stop in Düsseldorf, Germany and decided to gift the audience a unique set. In between the Pearl Jam hits and his solo works, Vedder also decided to pay tribute to late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell and perform the cover “Seasons.”

“Seasons” was Cornell’s first solo track which he recorded for cult romantic comedy, Singles. The song also found its place on the “You Know My Name” singer’s EP Poncier

This isn’t the first time that Eddie Vedder honors his late friend during live shows. He regularly performed another track from Poncier, “Missing,” during live shows while also remembering Cornell on Johannesburg’s Global Citizen: Mandela 100 festival with a special rendition of Pearl Jam’s “Long Road.”

Vedder and Cornell were longtime friends, emerging together on the Seattle’s music scene during the rise of grunge. They were briefly bandmates, forming band Temple of the Dog in 1990 and recording one album in honor of Mother Love Bone’s late frontman Andrew Wood.
