Doja Cat’s highly anticipated new album won’t be titled Hellmouth after all. The Los Angeles rapper/singer went on social media this week to share that her fourth studio effort is actually named First of All.

Back in March, Doja Cat confirmed that she finished the work on the follow-up to 2021’s Planet Her and said that the title of the album is Hellmouth. But in a subsequent interview for Time magazine, she seemed unsure the name would stick despite the fact that it “sounds good” and is “provocative.”

It looks like the “Need to Know” rapper indeed changed her mind and scrapped the original title.

“its not called hEllMoUth either its called “First of All” and yes I’m announcing the album title right now,” Doja Cat wrote on Twitter.

Speaking about the album in previous interviews, Doja Cat said that the new release would see her depart from the pop-influenced sound of her previous records. Instead, it will be a rap record featuring songs predominantly in hip hop and R&B genres.

This doesn’t come as a surprise, since Doja Cat has been vocal about her displeasure with the sound of her last two albums, Hot Pink and Planet Her. She even doubled down on this in a Twitter post that preceded the First of All title unveil, calling them “cash-grabs”.
