As soon as Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj dropped their “Say So” remix, we knew they’re a match made in heaven. Their collaboration quickly climbed to the top of the charts and became the first no. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 for both artists.

“Say So” was on a steady climb to no. 1 ever since it came out on January 28th, and sparked a viral dance challenge on TikTok. It became Doja Cat’s first top ten single and peaked at no. 5 before Minaj jumped on board.

The remix of the song came out on May 1st, and created an extra buzz for the song, helping it reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to being Doja Cat’s first no. 1 single, it’s also Minaj’s first song to reach the top spot on the charts in the US.

The popular rapper set the record for the longest wait to hit no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as the “Say So” remix became her 109th entry on the chart. She previously reached no. 2 with “Anaconda” in 2014, but it was blocked from the top spot by Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”.
