After a three-year-long break, members of the indie rock band DIIV are finally ready to release some new material. Their next album, Deceiver, is coming our way this year, and they’ll promote it by embarking on a tour across the US.

The band’s third album will hit the shelves on October 4th, and they gave us a taste of things to come with the first single “Skin Game”. Lead vocalist Zachary Cole Smith said this song was inspired by his personal road to recovery, but it should resonate with other people going through tough times.

“‘Skin Game’ looks at where the pain comes from. I’m looking at the personal, physical, emotional, and broader political experiences feeding into the cycle of addiction for millions of us,” explained Smith in an official statement.

DIIV will kick off their tour with the first show at the Desert Daze Festival on October 11th. They’ll stay on the road for the next two months, until wrapping things up with a final concert at the Sonoma Redwood Barn on December 13th.
