Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino recently wrapped up This Is America tour, and his last concert was his most emotional yet. American rapper paid tribute to his father who recently passed away during his last sold-out show in Los Angeles.

Despite enormous professional successes, he revealed 2018 has been a tough year and said he wishes it would be possible to change that. Glover took a few seconds to reflect on the loss of his father earlier this month, before performing a new song.

“I lost my father a couple weeks ago. I wanted to play him some of the new songs, but he didn’t want to hear them because he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great.’ I’m not saying that to talk about music, I say that to talk about trust,” said Glover.

This Is America Tour took place between September 6 and December 17, across the US and Canada. Glover said this will be his last tour under the Childish Gambino moniker because he feels his musical career was no longer necessary.
