Lana Del Rey just released her wordy new single “Hope is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Meā€¦but I Have it”.

The track is the latest to be released from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming album Norman F***ing Rockwell. The new single takes on a more sombre, confessional tone. It’s stripped back with melancholy piano and lyrics where Lana compares herself to a “24/7 Sylvia Plath.”

She sings: “Don’t ask if I’m happy, you know that I’m not / But at best I can say I’m not sad / ‘Cause hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have / Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have.”

The upcoming album, which will be Lana Del Rey’s sixth, is due for release March 29. The singer previously revealed that another one of her tracks will be titled “Sylvia Plath” so it looks like the troubled and fiercely brilliant writer has had a big influence on the new album.
