Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff are both amazing songwriters in their own right, and they’ll soon join forces to create something extortionary together. The duo has been tapped to write and produce original songs for the upcoming film Mother Mary.

Mother Mary has been described as “an epic pop melodrama” about a fictional pop superstar and her complicated relationship with an iconic fashion designer. Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel will play the lead roles, while David Lowery is set to direct.

Twitter went crazy right after this project was announced, especially after learning that Charli XCX and Antonoff will write the original music for this film. Given their joint writing credentials, the film’s soundtrack will be nothing short of a masterpiece, and the expectations are running high.

Charli XCX most recently composed music for the teen comedy film Bottoms and received rave reviews for her fifth studio album Crash. She also wrote music for many other artists over the years, including Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Iggy Azalea, and Camila Cabello.

As for Antonoff, he’s currently one of the most sought-after producers and songwriters in Hollywood. In addition to receiving acclaim for his recent collaborations with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, he’s also working on his own music with Bleachers.
