Rumor has it Cardi B turned down an opportunity to perform at this year’s Super Bowl, but it turns out she’ll make an appearance during the game… in some capacity. The “Bodak Yellow” singer recently filmed a new Pepsi commercial, which should premiere during the biggest sports event of the year.

Cardi B is following the footsteps of numerous beloved actors, athletes, models and musicians who endorsed this brand in the past. She’s joining the ranks of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Spice Girls and – of course – Cindy Crawford, who was the first celeb to appear in Super Bowl’s Pepsi commercial back in 1992.

Despite the fact she agreed to this deal with Pepsi, Cardi B never showed any intention to perform at the halftime show on February 3. Her rep dismissed the rumors she asked for a million bucks to join Maroon 5 on stage, and claimed a solid offer was never in place.

“There was never a firm offer to begin with for performance. There were talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement,” explained Cardi’s rep.
