After breaking several records and offering one epic performance after another, the members of BTS are ready to finally slow down. The K-pop phenomenon will take an “extended period of rest and relaxation” for the first time in years.

BTS announced their decision in an official statement and expressed their hope this break will provide them with an opportunity to experience things they missed out on since they had to spend a significant amount of time in the spotlight.

“This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly,” reads the statement by the band.

Members of BTS haven’t taken a break from performing, recording and promoting their music since their 2013. This break is very much deserved after everything they managed to accomplish this year. In addition to topping Billboard 200 chart with their latest EP Map of the Soul: Persona, they also grossed approximately $99.3 million with their latest concert tour Love Yourself.
