BTS will have some new music for their fans next month. The extremely popular South Korean boy band recently announced the release of a new single in English on August 21st.

The group shared the news on their community platform BTS Weverse while also confirming that they will have a new album at some point in 2020.

“We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible,” said BTS. “Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times, and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans.”

While keeping the name of the lead single under wraps, BTS revealed that the song will be “upbeat” while comparing it to their other English-language releases “MIC Drop” and “Waste It on Me.

“We thought that the song sounded perfect as it is in English,” they added. “When we first heard and recorded the song, we were energized, and our spirits were lifted up. We can’t wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together.”

BTS released two full-length albums this year. In February, they presented their fourth studio album on the South Korean language titled Map of the Soul: 7, which received widespread critical acclaim and hit No.1 on the US Billboard 200 as well as several other countries.

Then in July, the group released a Japanese-language album titled Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey. The release contained works from their previous LPs Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7, as well as several original tracks.
