Blackpink kicked off December by renewing their group contract with YG Entertainment, but their individual deals are a different story. Shortly after Jennie launched her own label, it was announced that Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa wouldn’t be renewing their solo deals with YG Entertainment.

The girl group’s agency YG Entertainment signed an exclusive contract for group activities with Blackpink in early December, but its members opted to go in a different direction when it comes to their individual activities.

“We have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities. We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts,” reads YG Entertainment’s statement.

This announcement doesn’t come as a huge shocker because it comes only a few days after Jennie announced she’s starting her own label OA. She described it as “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected” and said she’ll start her “solo journey” with this label.

It’s still unclear what the future holds for Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, and if they’ll sign new deals with existing labels or establish their own, just like Jennie.
