Pinhead Gunpowder, a side-project of Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, is going old-school. The American punk rockers will reissue their entire discography on vinyl in the next 12 months via 1−2−3−4 Go! Records.

According to the press release, the project will be divided into five phases. Each phase will contain different releases and comes with special bonuses for collectors. This includes T-shirts and art from each period.

The reissues will kick off on April 30th with phase one that contains 1994’s compilation Jump Salty on vinyl and 7” version of Trundle & Spring EP.

This is the band’s second attempt to re-release their back catalog. They announced a similar project in 2010, when they were supposed to put out several EPs and albums on vinyl and CD, but gave up on the idea at the last moment.

Pinhead Gunpowder was formed in the early 1990s and consisted out of Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Aaron Cometbus on drums, Bill Schneider on bass, and Green Day’s touring member Jason White on guitar.

Over the years, the group released eight extended plays, three compilation albums, and one studio effort titled Goodbye Ellston Avenue. Their most recent release greatest hits album Kick Over the Traces, which came out in 2009.

Pinhead Gunpowder’s last live show was a charity concert in 2010 at Berkley’s 924 Gilman Street.
