Fans of Billie Eilish spent eight months waiting for an official music video of her hit song “You Should See Me in a Crown” – and we finally know why. She wanted to give an anime treatment to one of her most beloved tracks and delivered a visual that’s unlike anything she’s ever done before.

Her latest video perfectly captures the nightmarish spirit of her upcoming debut album. It sees an animated version of Eilish morphing into a giant spider monster – an obvious nod to the vertical video of this single that shows spiders crawling all over the singer.

To make the whole thing even better, this haunting visual was directed by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. He spent eight months trying to bring this video to life and realize Billie’s vision in an unprecedented way.

“Murakami is an incredible visionary. It was such an honor to collaborate with him and have our brains and our worlds collide for this video,” said Billie Eilish about Murakami.
