We thought we’ll never live to see the day when “Old Town Road” is no longer leading the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but that day finally came. Billie Eilish managed to end the reign of the biggest hit of the year with her song “Bad Guy”.

It was just a matter of time before this moment came, but “Old Town Road” had a pretty good run on Billboard Hot 100. It spent 19 consecutive weeks on no. 1 and set an amazing new record that will be difficult to break in the future.

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, who are responsible for this smash hit, both sent messages of support to Eilish and congratulated the young singer for her enormous success. They also thanked the fans who allowed them to break such an important record with “Old Town Road”.

After dethroning this viral hit, “Bad Guy” became Eilish’s first no. 1 single. This accomplishment was a long time coming, since her first album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? previously debuted at no. 1 and gave us a total of five Top 40 singles.
