Bikini Kill’s lead vocalist Kathleen Hanna is embarking on tour. But it won’t be a tour with loud guitars and infectious energy like you might expect from the riot grrrl movement icon. Instead, it will include a lot of book signing.

Hanna just announced a book tour across the United States supporting her upcoming memoir, Rebel Girl: My Life As A Feminist Punk. The tour will kick off on May 14, the same day the memoir comes out, at Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, New York.

After that, Hanna will visit nine more cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and Philadelphia.

In Rebel Girl: My Life As A Feminist Punk, Hanna gives the readers an insight into her early life and her road to becoming one of the most influential punk rock musicians in the 1990s. The book also promises to reveal more about her friendship with influential musicians of the era, like Nirvana’s late frontman Kurt Cobain.

When she wraps her book tour, Hanna will embark on a trip across Europe with Bikini Kill. The band, which reunited in 2019, is currently scheduled to play a string of solo shows and festival appearances through June in Spain, France, Netherlands, and Belgium, among other European countries.
