Natasha Khan aka Bat for Lashes is dropping her new studio album Lost Girls in less than a month, and she just teased its release with another single – a haunting new song “The Hunger”.

The music video for her latest track shows the London-based singer performing a spiritual dance in the middle of the desert with a group of fellow dancers. Since she already has experience behind the camera, Khan decided to direct her latest visual on her own.

While discussing “The Hunger” with The Fader, Bat for Lashes said it all started with organ-like synth sounds, until co-writer Charles Scott IV jumped in with his bass, and helped her get closer to the sound she was aiming for.

“There’s nothing like this feeling of translating something that’s in your DNA, part of who you are energetically, coming out in music. Like it matches a thumbprint inside of you,” said the singer.

“The Hunger” will be featured on her fifth studio album Lost Girls, set to be released on September 6th. She previously dropped two songs from this record – “Kids in the Dark” and “Feel for You”.
