Mariah Carey follows less than 250 people on Instagram, and being one of them is quite an accomplishment. That’s why we’re not surprised to see Anitta totally freaking out after getting a seal of approval from her childhood idol.
The Brazilian singer celebrated the moment by posting a photo of her impressive Mariah Carey album collection and shared a sweet story describing how the R&B legend inspired her to become a singer one day.
“My uncle used to present us every Christmas with a new MC cd and we always use to celebrate going craaaaaazy. (Cuz in that time we didn’t have money to buy ourselves). So this one and only cd of hers of the year used to spend one week in each of us’ houses. And I use to go to their houses with the cd to keep listening lol,” wrote Anitta.
The Brazilian star acknowledged the fact this is just an Instagram follow, but explained it carries a lot of weight for her because she grew up with Carey in her heart, and the fact that she now knows her name is a dream come true.
