Jagged Little Pill transformed Alanis Morissette into a worldwide sensation and became one of the musical milestones of the ‘90s. Now, the songs from this hit album will serve as inspiration for an upcoming Broadway musical, written by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody.

The celebrated screenwriter described the experience of writing this project as one of the most fulfilling and emotional creative moments of her life and said she couldn’t be more thrilled to make her Broadway debut by Morissette’s side.

The legendary singer seemed equally impressed by Cody and said this artistic process has been nothing short of a revelation and described it as culmination of her life’s work.

“To work with Diablo Cody, whose heart is as open as her mind is bright and brave, has taken this record – which has meant so much to me – to a whole other level of depth, meaning and natural activism,” said Alanis Morissette.

Jagged Little Pill is set to premiere some time this fall and it will be helmed by Tony-nominated director Diane Paulus.
