We’ve spent five years waiting for Adele to share a new song with the world, and her comeback single “Easy on Me” was worth the wait. This song made us see the British hitmaker in a whole new light, and it already broke several major records in its wake.

Following its release on Friday, “Easy on Me” easily broke Spotify and Amazon Music records for the most streams for a song in a day. It also managed to debut at the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks solely to its first five hours of availability and we’re expecting it to hit no. 1 next week.

“Easy on Me” will be featured as a lead single on Adele’s upcoming fourth studio album 30, set to be released on November 19th. This highly-anticipated record will discuss the themes of separation, motherhood, and scrutiny of fame and the singer described it as her “ride or die” throughout the most turbulent period of her life.

“I’ve learned a lot of blistering truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life,” said Adele in an official album announcement.
