While many X-Factor finalists enjoy their five minutes of fame before going back to everyday life, some acts make it to the top of the charts and continue to sell records long after their X-Factor days. Here are 5 popular artists who owe their success to the show.

Little Mix

Little Mix was the first group to win the X-Factor and have sold millions of records worldwide. They recently released their girl power record “LM5” after breaking away from Simon Cowell’s management.

JLS

JLS came second on the show in 2008 but have recorded four albums and sold 10 million copies since then. Unfortunately, the group is no longer active but they certainly had a good run.

Olly Murs

Cheeky chappy Olly Murs has remained a successful artist and has become a TV presenter too. He even went on to co-present the show that made him famous.

Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis held the best selling single of 2008 and although she hasn’t done much recently, that alone is enough success for a lifetime.

One Direction

Although they ironically went their separate ways, One Direction remains one of the most popular contestants to spring from the show. Individually, they have had their own successful careers and Liam Payne even went on to have a relationship and child with judge Cheryl.
