Zayn Malik recently signed a new deal with Mercury Records, and that’s not the only news that got his fans excited. The former One Director singer is getting ready to drop new music under the new label, and he gave us a taste of things to come on social media.
Mercury Records president Tyler Arnold announced their new deal with Zayn, adding he knew that he was the right fit for this label as soon as they met.
“I was blown away by the new music, but just as impressed by his vision, drive, and spirit. We’re honored he and his team have joined us at Mercury Records. We’ve got an incredible opportunity to tell the next chapter of his story together,” said Arnold in a statement.
Zayn teased new music with a short clip that sees him sitting on a motorcycle and revving the engine before his helmet visor dramatically falls shut. Zayn wiped all posts from his Instagram to tease new music, which will arrive “very soon this summer.”
Zayn’s last studio album Nobody Is Listening came out in early 2021, and it produced singles “Better” and “Vibez”. It was followed by the release of the three-song mixtape Yellow Tape, which marked Zayn’s shift from pop to old-school hip-hop.
