Tool is still to release a new album, but at least the band will treat their fans with some live shows. American rockers have just announced that they are embarking on a mini U.S. tour in spring which will see them playing 10 shows in 14 days. The trip will see the band playing several festivals alongside the headlining dates.

Tool will start the tour in Jacksonville on May 5th at Welcome To Rockville and will visit Hampton, St. Louis and Kansas City among other cities before wrapping up the trip in Bridgeview on May 19th at Chicago Open Air Festival.

Following the U.S. tour, the band is set to play live shows in the United Kingdom and Europe in June.

After releasing critically acclaimed 10,000 Days in 2006, Tool has sporadically talked about a new studio album but due to several reasons, the release date was postponed. Then, in September 2018, vocalist Maynard James Keenan confirmed that the band is recording a new LP before announcing in early 2019 that he finished putting down vocals for new songs. Drummer Danny Carey suggested in a recent interview that the record might be out in April, while Keenan said that the summer of this year is more realistic timeframe.
