The Weeknd’s hit albums After Hours and Dawn FM have been envisioned as a part of a trilogy, and he’s finally plotting the third chapter. The Canadian hitmaker dropped hints about the upcoming third installment, set to mark the end of his current era.

The Weeknd recently took to Instagram to share a slide featuring the covers of After Hours and Dawn FM. The third photo in the sequence featured a white question mark on a black background, and he captioned it with the No. 3 emoji.

The Weeknd has been pretty quiet about his next album, but this isn’t the first time he hinted it would be a sequel to After Hours and Dawn FM. Shortly after the release of Dawn FM in 2022, he paired a photo of visuals from this album with a caption, “I wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?”

The Weeknd’s upcoming sixth studio album would mark the end of his current era, which kicked off with After Hours in 2020. It produced hit singles “Heartless”, “Blinding Lights”, “In Your Eyes”, and “Save Your Tears”, while its follow-up Dawn FM gave us songs “Take My Breath”, “Sacrifice”, “Out of Time” and “Less than Zero”.
