After months of speculation, The Weeknd finally confirmed that he is working on his fourth studio album, a follow up to 2016’s Starboy. The 28-year-old Canadian singer revealed the news during a recent live performance in his hometown of Toronto.

“Being in Toronto these past two days, I haven’t been this inspired in years,” – The Weeknd told the audience. “I want you guys to be the first to know that I’m working on my new album right now. Chapter 6 coming soon.”

“Call Out My Name” singer followed this with an album related cryptic tweet in which he wrote the following: “some chapters are smaller than others. not this next one though…”

The Weeknd’s last release was EP My Dear Melancholy which dropped in March 2018. Although released without any previous announcement, the extended play became a big hit debuting at the top of US Billboard 200 and reaching top 10 in 16 other countries. It also received praise from the critics.

Back in May, it was rumored that The Weeknd is preparing a follow-up EPs to My Dear Melancholy titled We’re Alone Together and Abel, which would complete the trilogy. Still, the plans for the other two extended plays were obviously scratched since there was no news about them since then.
