The music genius of Elton John is continuing to be celebrated, this time in a special way. It was announced that two cover albums are in the works, each containing prominent musicians doing their own version of some of Elton John’s greatest hit. The albums, titled Revamp and Restoration, will celebrate the partnership of John and his longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin.

Revamp will feature mostly pop and rock artist including The Killers, Pink, and Lady Gaga while Restoration line-up will be made of the country and contemporary music artists like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Chris Stapleton.

“Restoration was Bernie’s project, and he’s a huge country fan,” said John in a statement. “On Revamp, I wrote out a wish list of people that I would love and asked them, and to my surprise, most of them said yes, and we have quite an astonishing eclectic crew.”

“It’s always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it. As songwriters, Bernie and myself are thrilled when singers we admire and respect as much as those on Revamp and Restoration choose to add their own unique twist in the process. It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences. We’re humbled and thank them all for their generosity.” – the 70-year-old musician added.
