Taylor Swift dropped many hints about her next re-recording following the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and she finally made things official. The Grammy-winning hitmaker announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will be released as her next re-recording this fall.

1989 originally came out in 2014, and it marked Swift’s shift from country to synth-pop genre. It produced some of the singer’s biggest hits, including no. 1 singles “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood”, and went on to win album of the year and best pop vocal album at the Grammy Awards.

Swift is getting ready to celebrate its ninth anniversary by dropping 1989 (Taylor’s Version) this October.

“The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From the Vault tracks are so insane,” she wrote on social media.

Swift started working on re-recordings of her first six studio albums following the dispute over ownership of her masters with her former label Big Machine Records. Following the announcement of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), she only has two more albums left to record – her debut LP Taylor Swift 2006, and her last album under Big Machine, Reputation from 2016.
