]]>The Hayley Williams-fronted band returned to social media this week, posting a preview of their cover of Talking Heads “Burning Down The House”. The track will be part of the upcoming A Stop Making Sense: A Tribute Album, which will see 16 music acts covering 16 songs from Talking Heads’ extensive catalog.
In one of the previous interviews, Williams hinted at the existence of the cover by saying that Paramore recorded a track from David Byrne, Talking Heads frontman.
“All I’m going to say is it’s insane. It’s incredible. It’s unreal. And hopefully, it won’t be too long before we get to share it,” said Williams at the time.
After presenting their critically acclaimed sixth studio album, This Is Why, in early 2023 and wrapping up the promotional tour for the release, Paramore said that their future as a band is clouded by a “level of uncertainty.” This prompted fans to view their social media clean-up as a sign that the group was breaking up.
However, Variety later reported that Paramore plans to record a new album and that deleting the social media content represents a fresh start after the band parted ways with their recording company, Atlantic Records.

]]>Members of Paramore took to social media to announce Re: This Is Why described as an “almost remix album”, and said it’s incredible to hear their world collide with other artists.
“We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence… Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten,” wrote the band in a statement.
Some of the remixed tracks set to be featured on this album are “Liar” by the xx’s Romy, “Thick Skull” by Julien Baker, “You First” by Remi Wolf, “Figure 8” by Bartees Strange, and “C’est Comme Ça” by Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale.
This Is Why was originally released in February this year, as Paramore’s first album in six years. It peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart, in addition to topping the charts in the UK and Australia, and the band celebrated its release by embarking on the This Is Why Tour across North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania.

]]>Williams released a lengthy statement, where she explained that they decided to take a week off performing to give her body enough time to heal. She did everything in her power to fight the symptoms, but her lung infection persisted, forcing the band to cancel US dates on their This is Why Tour.
“After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you. I’m now risking long-term damage and I need to pay attention to my body,” wrote Williams.
Paramore already postponed four dates on the This is Why Tour, but Williams’ illness put its future in jeopardy. The most recent North American leg of the tour was set to conclude this month, but the band is still expected to perform a series of dates across New Zealand and Australia in November. They’ll also serve as the opening act for Taylor Swift on the European leg of The Eras Tour next year.

]]>The pop-rock band’s sixth studio album hit the shelves on February 10, and it didn’t take it long to start taking the world by storm. Just a week later, it hit No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA chart, becoming Paramore’s third leader in this country, following the success of Brand New Eyes (2009) and Paramore (2013).
Things only got better from there, and This Is Why blasted to No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart, becoming the band’s third chart leader. Paramore failed to replicate the same kind of success in the US, where their album debuted at no. 2, behind SZA’s SOS, which returned to No. 1 for its ninth non-consecutive week.
This Is Why is Paramore’s first album since After Laughter in 2017, and it reunited the trio of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, and Taylor York. The album’s release was preceded by singles “This Is Why”, “The News”, and “C’est Comme Ça”, and they recently surprised their fans by dropping a music video for the fourth single “Running Out of Time”.

“When we were kids it was like, we’d never even seen or heard of some of the opportunities before,” Williams recalled. “Half of it was curiosity and half of it was just wide-eyed ‘let’s see what this experience feels like.’ Obviously, we wanted the band to succeed. But I don’t even know if we really grasped the concept of succeeding.
“It was more like we just went through the motions every day, and if the shows are really magical, then that’s why you do it, you know? Now — especially after this album cycle, too — I would never do things the way we did before ‘After Laughter’. With ‘After Laughter’, we kind of said no to everything.”
Paramore put out their first album in 2007 when Hayley was just 18. ‘After Laughter’ is the name of their latest album which was released in 2017.
Hayley continued: “I never want to have to put out a press release that says we’re over or that I quit or that we’re taking a hiatus, which is essentially a marketing ploy these days. I would rather it just be. It just is a part of each of our DNA. If we choose to move into it as a brand and put a name on these songs and make a new t-shirt, then awesome. But I’ve been in a band with them since I was 12; I don’t think the band is going anywhere. “
She added: “As long as we’re friends, the band just is. It’s just in us.”

“This is to every bad decision that led us here. This is to all the embarrassing things we might have said. But we owned up to it, and we grew,” she added.

It performed well at the charts and reached three times platinum in the United States alone. Over the time, however, the song received criticism for its controversial lyrics.
During the Nashville performance of the song, Hayley Williams decided to skip the controversial lyrics.
