It took six years for Paramore to drop their latest studio album, and This Is Why was definitely worth waiting for. This record found huge success around the world, topping the charts in Australia and the UK, in addition to hitting No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

The pop-rock band’s sixth studio album hit the shelves on February 10, and it didn’t take it long to start taking the world by storm. Just a week later, it hit No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA chart, becoming Paramore’s third leader in this country, following the success of Brand New Eyes (2009) and Paramore (2013).

Things only got better from there, and This Is Why blasted to No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart, becoming the band’s third chart leader. Paramore failed to replicate the same kind of success in the US, where their album debuted at no. 2, behind SZA’s SOS, which returned to No. 1 for its ninth non-consecutive week.

This Is Why is Paramore’s first album since After Laughter in 2017, and it reunited the trio of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, and Taylor York. The album’s release was preceded by singles “This Is Why”, “The News”, and “C’est Comme Ça”, and they recently surprised their fans by dropping a music video for the fourth single “Running Out of Time”.
