Travis Scott’s new album Utopia has been ruling the Billboard 200 chart ever since it hit the shelves, and it’s showing no signs of stopping. Utopia returned to No. 1 for the third week in a row to continue its reign as the longest-running hip-hop album atop the chart in 2023.

We’ve seen many K-pop acts rise to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, and it was just a matter of time before NewJeans got there. They finally managed to top the chart with their latest EP Get Up, which marks their very first No. 1 album in the US.

NewJeans rose to the top with 126,500 equivalent album units earned during the EP’s first week on the chart, including 101,500 in album sales, 24,500 in SEA units (equaling 34.39 million on-demand official streams of the set’s six tracks), and 500 in TEA units.

NewJeans is the second all-female K-pop group to top the Billboard 200 chart in less than a year, following in the footsteps of Blackpink with their album Born Pink last September. Get Up is also the fourth non-English language album to hit No. 1 this year, following Stray Kids’ 5-STAR, Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito, and Tomorrow X Together’s The Name Chapter: Temptation.

The race for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week was pretty tight, and NewJeans won it by only 500 units. Barbie: The Album bowed at No. 2 with 126,000 equivalent album units earned, which marks the biggest week for a full-length theatrical film soundtrack by units since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born four years ago.

Almost three months after its release, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time is still ruling the charts and breaking records. After returning to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for its 12th week in a row, One Thing officially spent most weeks at No. 1 for a country album in over 30 years.

One Thing earned 129,000 equivalent album units during its latest week on the Billboard Hot 200, scoring its 12th consecutive week at No. 1. This number may look quite modest when compared to its debut with 501,000 album-equivalent units, but it was enough to propel Wallen to No. 1 again and continue his reign atop the Billboard 200 chart.

One Thing is the first album to spend at least 12 weeks at no. 1 since Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, which notched 13 nonconsecutive weeks atop back in 2022. It’s also the album with the most weeks at No. 1 in a row since Titanic soundtrack ruled the chart for 16 consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 1998.

Most significantly, One Thing is now the longest-reigning No. 1 country album in over three decades, since Billy Ray Cyrus’ Some Gave All notched 17 weeks, all consecutively, atop the Billboard 200. It surpassed Taylor Swift’s Fearless, with 11 weeks on top in 2008-09, to break this record.

A full month after dropping his latest studio album One Thing at a Time, Morgan Wallen is still not leaving the top of the charts. His latest studio album debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with the biggest week of 2023, and it’s still leading the way four weeks later.

One Thing at a Time topped the Billboard 200 for the fourth consecutive week with 197,000 equivalent album units earned. Wallen’s latest LP managed to earn 177,500 SEA units (equaling 235.76 million on-demand official streams), 17,000 album sales, and 2,500 TEA units during its latest week on the chart.

Several hit new albums failed to reach no. 1 thanks to its domination. BTS’ Jimin debuted at No. 2 with his first solo album FACE despite having the loyal BTS fanbase on his side, while Lana Del Rey had to settle for the No. 3 spot with her latest album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

One Thing at a Time was originally released on March 3, and it earned 501,000 album-equivalent units on its debut. In addition to scoring the biggest week for an album in 2023 so far, all of its 36 tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new record for most simultaneously charted songs by a single artist.

There was a lot of anticipation leading up to the release of Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, and this album managed to live up to the hype. The country star’s third studio LP easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with the biggest week for an album in 2023.

One Thing at a Time hit no. 1 with 501,000 equivalent album units earned during its first week on the chart. With 498.28 million on-demand official streams over the album’s 36 tracks, Wallen’s latest LP scored the fifth-largest streaming week ever for any album and the biggest one for a country album.

In addition to scoring the largest week for an album since the beginning of the year, One Thing at a Time also had the largest week for a country album since Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version). This is also the largest week for an album overall since Swift’s Midnights debuted at no. 1 with 1.578 million units earned following its release in October last year.

One Thing at a Time was released on March 3, and it was preceded by singles “You Proof”, “Thought You Should Know”, and “Last Night”. It’s Wallen’s second album to top the Billboard 200, following the success of Dangerous: The Double Album, which spent ten weeks atop the chart.

Karol G made quite a splash with her latest album Mañana Será Bonito, which found huge success on the charts around the globe. The singer’s fourth studio album topped the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first all-Spanish language album by a woman to do so.

Mañana Será Bonito (Spanish for Tomorrow Will Be Pretty) hit the shelves on February 24, and debuted atop the Billboard 200, with 94,000 album-equivalent units earned in its first week. It became the third all-Spanish-language album to top the chart after Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour Del Mundo and Un Verano Sin Ti and the first by a female artist.

With this historic achievement, Karol G managed to surpass Shakira, whose Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 became the all-time highest-charting Spanish-language album by a woman in the US when it debuted at No. 4 back in 2005. It’s important to note it had higher first-week sales with 157,000 copies.

Shakira even played a role in Karol G’s success since she’s one of the artists featured on Mañana Será Bonito, on the album’s fifth single “TQG”. This song became Karol G’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Global 200 and the first top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It’s been over four months since Bad Bunny dropped his latest album Un Verano Sin Ti, but his chart domination isn’t over just yet. The Puerto Rican rapper achieved another major milestone as this album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the tenth nonconsecutive week.

Un Verano Sin Ti returned to the top spot with 99,500 equivalent album units earned in the US during its most recent week on the chart. This makes it the longest-charting No. 1 album of 2022, surpassing the Encanto soundtrack with nine weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart.

Un Verano Sin Ti also happens to be one of only nine albums to notch at least ten weeks atop the chart since 2000. The list also includes Taylor Swift’s Fearless and 1989, Adele’s 21 and 25, Drake’s Views, Santana’s Supernatural, Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album, and the Frozen soundtrack.

Un Verano Sin Ti was originally released on May 6, and it debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, becoming Bad Bunny’s second No. 1 album and the second all-Spanish language album to top the chart. This record produced several hit singles following its release, including “Moscow Mule”, “Tití Me Preguntó”, and “Después de la Playa”.

Olivia Rodrigo made quite a splash when she dropped her debut album Sour about a year ago, and she’s still not done breaking records with this LP. Sour made it back to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, becoming the longest-running top 10 debut album of the 21st century.

Sour was originally released on May 21, 2021 and spent five weeks atop the Billboard 200, becoming the longest-reigning number-one album by a female artist in 2021. As if that wasn’t enough, this LP kept coming back to the top 10 time and time again, setting a major record along the way.

With 52 nonconsecutive weeks spent in the top 10, Sour became the longest-running debut album in the top 10 on the Billaboard 200 chart this century. It broke the record previously held by Lady Gaga’s first album The Fame, which spent 51 nonconsecutive weeks in the top 10 between 2009 and 2017.

Since its release last year, Sour produced two no. 1 singles “Good 4 U” and “Drivers License”, while “Deja Vu” and “Traitor” made it to the top 10. It also won Rodrigo three Grammys, including the award for the best pop vocal album, and she’s currently busy promoting it with the Sour Tour across North America and Europe.

Un Verano Sin Ti returned to the spot during its most recent week on the chart, with 137,000 equivalent album units. To make the whole thing even more impressive, this marks the album’s fifth week with over 100,000 equivalent album units earned, making it the first record of 2022 to reach this milestone.

Un Verano Sin Ti hit the shelves on May 6 and produced hit singles “Moscow Mule” and “Tití Me Preguntó”. It became Bad Bunny’s second album to reach No. 1 in the US, following the success of his 2020 LP El Último Tour Del Mundo. It’s also the second all-Spanish language album to top the Billboard 200 chart.

As for the rest of this week’s chart, Bad Bunny’s chart-topper effectively stopped Post Malone’s latest album Twelve Carat Toothache from reaching No. 1. This record was a major runner-up for the top spot this week, but it eventually debuted at No. 2 with 121,000 equivalent album units earned.

Bad Bunny easily reached No 1. on the Billboard 200 chart when he dropped his latest album Un Verano Sin Ti in early May, and he’s back on top again! The Puerto Rican superstar returned to No. 1 with this album for its second week on top and set a major record along the way.
