There was a lot of anticipation leading up to the release of Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, and this album managed to live up to the hype. The country star’s third studio LP easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with the biggest week for an album in 2023.

One Thing at a Time hit no. 1 with 501,000 equivalent album units earned during its first week on the chart. With 498.28 million on-demand official streams over the album’s 36 tracks, Wallen’s latest LP scored the fifth-largest streaming week ever for any album and the biggest one for a country album.

In addition to scoring the largest week for an album since the beginning of the year, One Thing at a Time also had the largest week for a country album since Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version). This is also the largest week for an album overall since Swift’s Midnights debuted at no. 1 with 1.578 million units earned following its release in October last year.

One Thing at a Time was released on March 3, and it was preceded by singles “You Proof”, “Thought You Should Know”, and “Last Night”. It’s Wallen’s second album to top the Billboard 200, following the success of Dangerous: The Double Album, which spent ten weeks atop the chart.
