Sum 41 has been going strong for almost three decades, but all good things must come to an end. The Canadian punk rock band is disbanding after 27 years together following their upcoming world tour and the final album.

Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason “Cone” McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo released a joint statement on social media to announce they’ll be going their separate ways.

“Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives. We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear it from us first,” the band said in a statement.

Despite disbanding, Sum 41 will have enough time to say a proper goodbye to their fans because they have several projects on the way. Their final album Heaven and Hell is soon to be released, and it will be a double record, which will explore both their pop-punk roots and their recent metal sound.

Sum 41 will also soon embark on a tour alongside Simple Plan and The Offspring, but they’re also plotting a headlining farewell tour after releasing their final album.
