Drake enjoyed a tremendous success in 2017 and it looks like he wants to do the same in 2018 by dropping two new singles from his mini EP Scary Hours. Drake is probably at the prime of his career and “God’s Plan” is a confirmation of that, topping the iTunes Hip Hop charts and breaking the record for most streams in a single day in the United States.

Drake finds himself on a familiar path with this playful and melodic beat produced by Cardo, Boi-1da and YeX. It shows off his skill and you immediately know it will be an instant hit. However, the feelings are somewhat mixed this time. While the song was destined for success from the beginning, it is noticeable that in certain moments Drake lacks the energy on the track. It seems to be another classic Drake beat with a classic Drake flow addressing the classic Drake topics such as success, haters, money etc. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it can strike as boring and repetitive. Maybe Drake should’ve taken more time off before releasing another song, and avoid the arguments that “God’s Plan” is a hit just because his huge popular at the moment.

Despite the minor remarks, God’s Plan is good and has a catchy Drake flow, tune and style and will surely be a target for night clubs. Its resemblances to previous Drake hits means you will enjoy it at least for some time.

We are delighted with the fact that Drake is continuing with his hard work and can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us in the future. Until the God’s Plan will surely do the trick.
