It took five years for Selena Gomez to share her new album with the world, and it was definitely worth the wait. Rare became her third solo record to reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart!

Gomez’s new album came out on January 10th, and the young singer took a moment to thank everyone who listened to her new songs and helped her reach no. 1.

“I was a bit embarrassed asking so often for you to stream or buy my album. It felt inauthentic. Thank YOU so much for making something so personal to me be a moment I’ll never forget. All I truly desire is for you all to enjoy the music and spread the love,” wrote the singer on Instagram.

Rare reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 after earning 112,000 album-equivalent units and became the first album released this decade to top the chart. The release of this album was preceded by hit singles “Look at Her Now” and “Lose You to Love Me” – Gomez’s first single to ever make it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
