Selena Gomez has been dropping hints about taking a break from music to focus on acting, but she’s not ready to turn her back on music just yet. She celebrated Valentine’s Day by announcing her next studio album I Said I Love You First, which she developed alongside her fiancé Benny Blanco.
I Said I Love You First will be released on March 21, and it will celebrate the love story between Gomez and Blanco, giving fans a unique window into their relationship.
“This album came together organically as a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences. It chronicles their entire story – before they met, falling in love, and looking to what the future holds,” reads the couple’s press release.
They gave us a taste of things to come by dropping a new song titled “Scared of Loving You” just in time for Valentine’s Day, which they co-wrote alongside Finneas O’Connell. “Younger and Hotter” will be released as the album’s lead single very soon.
Gomez and Blanco collaborated on several occasions in the past. He was credited as a songwriter and producer of her smash hits “Kill Em with Kindness” and “Same Old Love”, and they later joined forces for the 2019 single “I Can’t Get Enough” alongside Tainy and J Balvin.
