Many of our favorite artists are dropping new albums this year, and Selena Gomez is getting ready to join them. She recently shared an update about her plans for the future and said that she’s planning “to make a great album” in 2024.
Gomez recently set down for an interview with Billboard and Rolling Stone and told both magazines that she’s planning to release a new album this year. She told Rolling Stones that her new music comes “from a place of confidence” before dropping some more hints about her next album.
Gomez gave us a taste of her new sound with her latest singles “Single Soon” and “Love On”, but she claims that they might not really be reflective of the project that she’s working on.
“They are in spirit, but I’m excited to explore more styles of music, and I think people will hopefully be surprised by the contrast. I like releasing songs that I love and I care about. I just released them into the world and later comes the full album,” she explained.
Gomez also addressed speculations that she’s planning to retire from music and said it’s “natural for people to take breaks.” She explained that she wants to prioritize acting in the future because she hasn’t done a lot of the things that she wants to do in that space.
