Peyton List is the latest Disney star trying to make it in the music industry, and judging by her music video for her new song “Don’t Cry” – she’s doing a pretty good job.

Before releasing this song, List made an appearance during one of Ingrid Michaelson’s concerts and dropped her first single “Liar Liar” last year, but “Don’t Cry” makes it clear she means business.

In a true pop star manner, the 21-year-old actress can be seen rocking several elaborate outfits and colorful wigs while channeling her inner ‘50s housewife.

To make the whole thing even more impressive, this retro video is the young singer’s first music video, and she came up with the entire concept on her own.

“It was my first time taking on the role of creative director for a music video and leading a set to create and follow my own vision. It was nice to tell my own story in a very dramatized, ‘50s housewife that has gone stir crazy. It’s meant to be tongue in cheek,” explained Peyton List while discussing her new song with Billboard.
