The release date of Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore studio album Guts is just around the corner and it seems we’ll soon get to hear it live! The young singer recently shared some amazing news about her new record and revealed she wrote it with a tour in mind.

Rodrigo discussed her upcoming album with Capital FM and revealed that most songs were written for live performances. She also mentions that her next tour is currently “in the works”, but it’s still too early to share further details with the world.

“I think there’s a lot of fun songs. I wrote the album with a tour in mind, so I think they’re all songs I wanted people to be able to scream in a crowd. Hopefully, that’s what’s achieved,” explained Rodrigo.

Guts will hit the shelves on September 8, and Rodrigo described it as a record “about growing pains”, which will capture “an intense period of awkwardness and change” that she went through since the release of her debut album Sour in 2021.

Guts will feature a total of 12 tracks, including the chart-topping lead single “Vampire” and its follow-up “Bad Idea Right?”, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 just this week.
