Normani has given us nothing but amazing bangers this year, yet her latest single still managed to exceed our wildest expectation. The dance-filled video for “Motivation” sees the young singer showing off her epic moves and paying homage to some of her biggest idols.
If you don’t pay close attention to this epic video, it may seem like another music video with elaborate choreography, but it’s so much more. It pays homage to some of the songs Normani listened to during her childhood, including “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé, “…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears and “I’m Real” by Jennifer Lopez.
The video even opens up with the younger version of Normani watching TV, and fantasizing she’ll once have “the number one video in the world”. She achieved that goal in our eyes since none of the other music videos we’ve seen last weekend doesn’t come close to “Motivation”.
This track is set to be featured on her debut album, and it was co-written by Ariana Grande. She sent a couple of sweet tweets to Normani after the song was released, telling her how proud she was of her success.
