Noel Gallagher recently revealed that he has found his long-lost solo album in a sock drawer. Gallagher started working on this record after he left Oasis, but decided to destroy the master record after. The 51-year-old rocker previously described the album, done in collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, as “space rock.”

Although it was believed that the album is lost forever, Noel Gallagher gave fans a bit of hope that they might hear the record in his recent interview with Matt Morgan.

“I did find a copy of it recently in a sock drawer,” – said Gallagher of his scrapped solo album. “The masters, somebody has them, the masters have not been destroyed – but it won’t be coming out any time soon. It might be nice to go back and revisit it in years to come, because ‘Shoot A Hole Into The Sun’ is f***ing great and there might be more stuff like that in there. Best to give it a bit of distance though I think.”

Only a handful of people managed to hear the album before Gallagher decided to move on since he wasn’t pleased with the overall sound of it. It is believed that two songs he did with Amorphous Androgynous for his 2015’s album Chasing Yesterday, “The Right Stuff” and “The Mexican,” are similar to the sound of the long-lost record.

Noel Gallagher’s most recent solo effort was album Who Built the Moon? released in late 2017. The album received glowing reviews and was marked as his best work since Oasis.
