Miley Cyrus pulled all the stops with her smash hit “Flowers”, and we’re still not done talking about it. Less than four months since its release, this girl power anthem set another major record, becoming the fastest song to cross one billion streams on Spotify.

The popularity of “Flowers” hasn’t faded away since this song hit the shelves on January 12 and set several records in its wake. It scored the biggest week for a song in the history of Spotify following its release, and it now crossed one billion streams in just 112 days, becoming the quickest song to ever do so.

“Flowers” was released as the lead single from Cyrus’ latest album Endless Summer Vacation, which hit the shelves on March 10. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and also produced singles “The River” and “Jaded”.

It’s widely rumored that “Flowers” references the singer’s divorce from her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus never addressed these speculations directly, but she confirmed that Endless Summer Vacation contains some shady lyrics.

“There’s subtle shade. There’s, you know, honesty and truth, and there’s some wisdom, and there’s some humor. And there’s some heaviness and depth,” Cyrus explained in her Disney+ special.
