Metallica dropped their latest album 72 Seasons last week and they’re planning to do something revolutionary with their upcoming music videos. The iconic metal band will release American Sign Language (ASL) videos for every song from their latest album.

The iconic band celebrated National ASL Day by making an effort to make their music accessible to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community by partnering up with the Deaf Professional Arts Network (DPAN) and Amber G Productions.

Metallica will become the first-ever major rock band to go down this road, and Amber Galloway of AG Productions will help them share their music with a larger audience. She’s been singing at many major music festivals, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, before joining forces with Metallica.

“Her company specializes in the interpretation of concerts and music festivals and has been instrumental helping us to be the first rock artists to create ASL video versions of an entire album using deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing interpreters,” reads the band’s statement.

72 Seasons is Metallica’s first studio album in almost seven years, and it was preceded by singles “Lux Æterna”, “Screaming Suicide”, “If Darkness Had a Son”, and “72 Seasons”. It was released on April 14, and the band will soon embark on a massive tour to promote its release.
