Metallica Announce Acoustic Live Album for Charity

In an effort to raise money for their non-profit All Within My Hands Foundation, thrash metal legends Metallica performed a rare acoustic set in San Francisco in early November. This one-of-a-kind concert will now get released as a live album, with all the money from the sales going to the organization.

Titled Helping Hands … Live & Acoustic at the Masonic, the album will be available both as a digital release and a limited-edition vinyl, which will be available in record stores. Album is available for pre-order as of now, while the release date being set for February 9th,2019.

According to the press release, all funds collected from Helping Hands … Live & Acoustic at the Masonic sales will help “fight hunger and to assist in creating sustainable communities through workforce education.”

The acoustic show at San Francisco’s Masonic saw Metallica playing some of their biggest hits like “The Unforgiven,” “Enter Sandman,” and “Nothing Else Matters” as well as unexpected covers like Blue Öyster Cult’s “Veteran of the Psychic Wars” and Nazareth’s “Please Don’t Judas Me.”
