Mariah Carey’s signature hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” turned 25 this year, and she’s celebrating its anniversary in style. The Grammy-winning singer decided to spread some more Christmas cheer by dropping a brand-new video for this holiday tune.
The new video is much more elaborate than the original, released over two decades ago, and it celebrates the childhood wonder and magic that the holiday season brings along. It has a much more impressive production value, and Carey said her goal was “to make a modern classic,”
You’ll find everything from skating Santas to dancing toy-soldiers enjoying winter wonderland by the singer’s side. Carey can be seen rocking a series of festive outfits and performing an amazing choreography alongside a group of dancers holding giant candy canes.
The new “All I Want for Christmas” video came out only a few days after this song reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, for the first time since its release 25 years ago when it wasn’t eligible to be featured on this chart.
