Lizzo has always been the queen of feel-good anthems and she’s living up to that title with her latest single “About Damn Time”. This song is a true breath of fresh air that we need right now and she’s using it to tease her fourth studio album Special.
“About Damn Time” comes with a playful music video, which opens with Lizzo leaving her support group. She quickly finds another way to deal with her anxiety—dancing everywhere she goes, from an empty hallway and office building to a swimming pool, where she’s showing off her moves while playing the flute.
“About Damn Time” will be featured on Lizzo’s upcoming studio album Special, set to be released on July 15. She told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that she wants to use this record to turn her fear into love.
“I think that the music really is going to speak for itself. I’m writing songs about love from every direction, and I hope that I can turn a little bit of the fear that’s been running rampant in this world, energetically into love,” said Lizzo.
The Grammy-winning singer performed “About Damn Time” during a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, together with the song called “Special”. They’re both expected to be featured on her fourth studio album.
