The Killers surprised their fans with a perfect gift for Christmas. The American rockers shared energizing new single through social media.

The track, which is untitled at the moment, sees the band getting back to basics with a guitar-heavy sound, banging drums, and a catchy chorus. According to first reactions, the song has all the makings of an instant classic.

The Killers only uploaded the song to their official social media accounts, and it currently remains unavailable on streaming services and other platforms.

The fans pointed out on The Killers’ official subreddit that the untitled single is most likely the track “We Did it in the Name of Love” that frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. mentioned during an interview with The Current earlier this year.

At the time, Flowers and Vannucci Jr. talked about how the band got together at an old studio in “the hills of Santa Cruz, California” and started making songs together. They said that one of them is “We Did it in the Name of Love” and shared that it has “a little bit of a spirit of Sisters of Mercy”.

The Killers recently scrapped the work on their eighth studio album after the band wasn’t satisfied with the “type of music” it contained. Instead, they released a compilation album, Rebel Diamonds, which contained their greatest hits as well as several new songs.
