It’s been a while since Katy Perry shared some new music with the world, but how long does she plan to keep her fans waiting? The Grammy-nominated singer recently revealed that she’s written a lot of new music “from a place of love” and she’ll share it with the world once she feels ready.

Perry recently set down for an interview with Good Morning America to discuss her ongoing Las Vegas residency and plans for the future. She already performed several legs of her Play residency since its launch in late 2021, and she’ll close it with a series of dates in October and November.

Perry also revealed that she’s been working on some new music in recent years, and revealed that she’s “written a lot from a place of love” after giving birth to her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with the actor Orlando Bloom.

“I’m always writing, I have been, but I think what’s really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I’ve got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life of a 3-year-old. I will be back, but let me get this right,” explained Perry.

Perry’s last studio album Smile came out in 2020, and it produced singles “Never Really Over”, “Harleys in Hawaii”, “Daisies”, “Smile”, and “Not the End of the World”.
