Organizers of the FYF Fest, which was supposed to take place on July 21st and 22nd in Los Angeles, have announced on Tuesday that the festival has been canceled. The 2018 edition was set to celebrate festival’s 15th anniversary and had Janet Jackson and Florence + the Machine as the headliners.

“After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel FYF Fest 2018,” said the organizers on FYF Fest’s official website and social media. “Our team of many women and men have worked tirelessly on this event for many years but felt unable to present an experience on par with the expectations of our loyal fans and the Los Angeles music community this year. We will be announcing some special local shows soon, featuring some of the amazing artists from the 2018 line up.”

Other names that were booked for the FYF Fest 2018 include The XX, My Bloody Valentine, St. Vincent, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Future, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Car Seat Headrest, and Skepta.

Although the organizers failed to offer a full disclosure on the reasons for the cancellation, Billboard reported that FYF Fest struggled with low ticket sales.

FYF Fest was established as an annual three-day music festival by music promoter Sean Carlson. The festival showcased a variety of music genres through four stages set in Los Angeles Exposition Park. Following the 2017 edition of the festival, Carlson decided to step away and hand the organization to Goldenvoice’s Jennifer Yacoubian.
