Motionless In White is back with a new track after releasing the alternate version of 2019’s single “Another Life” back in August. This time, the heavy metal band decided to do some cover work and deliver their take on The Killers’ hit track “Somebody Told Me.”

While Motionless In White didn’t mess up with the winning formula too much, the band brought a bit more energy compared to the original while also injecting “Somebody Told Me” a bit of their trademark “spooky and horror” sound. Hear their effort below.

Detailing the cover in the press release, Motionless In White said that they recorded the piece while being in quarantine due to coronavirus lockdown. During that time, the band members were looking for interesting projects to work on, and “Somebody Told Me” cover ended up being one of them.

“We’ve always wanted to take a shot at covering an iconic alternative song, and ‘Somebody Told Me’ has always been one of those tracks that ooze pure energy, and has crazy good hooks that we felt we could transform into a great rock version,” said the band’s frontman Chris Cerulli.

“Somebody Told Me” was released back in 2004, serving as the second single for The Killers’ debut studio effort Hot Fuss. While the song wasn’t commercially successful at the beginning, it later became one of the band’s most beloved tracks and favorite during live shows.
