It’s only been about a year since Gracie Abrams gave us her debut album Good Riddance, and its follow-up is already on the way. She announced the release of her sophomore studio album The Secret of Us, which will hit the shelves this June.
Abrams took to social media to share the cover of her new album and revealed its first single “Risk” is hitting the shelves on May 1. She also gave a shout-out to producer Aaron Dessner, “Risk” co-writer Audrey Hobert, and cover artist Abby Waisler for helping her bring her vision to life.
“We had real, true fun writing this album. There were also the occasional tears. Audrey and I wrote ‘Risk’ on our couch at home. Aaron produced the s–t out of it. Abby shot the cover. The music is yours in basically five seconds and we cannot wait,” she wrote on Instagram.
The Secret of Us will be released on June 21 via Interscope Records, and it serves as the follow-up to her debut album Good Riddance. It was also produced by Dessner, and its success helped Abrams score a Grammy nomination for the best new artist.
Abrams is yet to share a tracklist of The Secret of Us, but it could feature some of the unreleased songs she performed on tour, including “Sad About It” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry”.
