“Girls Like You” is one of the songs we couldn’t stop dancing to in 2018, and Vevo’s year-end list reflects that. Maroon 5’s collaboration with Cardi B topped their list of most-viewed videos of the year.
Vevo’s head of content JP Evangelista believes their chart confirms 2018 has been an amazing year for music videos and said they’re proud to be home to a wealth of truly creative visual work.
“More than ever, music videos provide an integral visual element for artists’ campaigns, with over two billion hours of content being watched. Congratulations to Maroon 5 for taking the crown as the most-viewed artist globally – an astounding feat,” said Evangelista.
Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” took the title of the most-viewed video in 24 hours, but it came out too late to make it to the top 10. “Sin Pijama” by Becky G and Natti Natasha took the no. 2 spot and Drake’s smash-hit “God’s Plan” was right behind.
